I also loved experiencing the bond developing between Ryker and Seral. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account.

The Experiment

Expediment for telling us about the problem. The romance it terrible. Seral who is Caeorleian, has obviously not been tranq’ed with a paralytic like Ryker has been and immediately launches himself at Ryker as the shuttle lands on his home planet. BUT don’t think it’s one of those vampires you read somewhere!

I was most dissatisfied with “the experiment” itself, namely the account of Ryker’s extreme abuse at the hands of “doctors. But when Nordweol looks at him… I loved the aliens in this book. Narrator was OK, but nothing special. There is something that made me squeeeeee in delight? Its not perfect, some things could obviously be tweaked, but for the most part it was fun to listen to.

I wanted much more emotion, more tension there. It would be a five star book if all of it was as fast paced and engaging as the second half and maybe if the alien word got a bit better fleshed out. Return to Book Page. Alexa Actionable Analytics for the Web. Some people will love this one, unfortunately, I didn’t. I wouldn’t mind reading a sequel. I also liked that Ryker had a lot of inner struggles to get through because of the terrible things he endured.

I loved the book until about an hour and a half in where guy on guy action exploded onto the scene laugh. Seral was overprotective at first, but never in an alpha way; he was just worried because he knew that Ryker had been through a lot of abuse. I loved how they both respected each other and how healthy their relationship seemed once Seral got past his overprotectiveness. Feb 01, Leaundra rated it it was amazing.

I am hoping the evil but sorta sexy council-member, Buphet, who was casting lustful looks at Ryker from the margins will reappear in the sequel–maybe he could kidnap him and take him to his lair!

Read reviews that mention science fiction world building wait for the next great read even though well written ryker and seral alicia nordwell next book surprise twists really enjoyed stop the war main characters alien race feel like seral has been captured recommend this book new world seral and ryker read it once and loved. Broken in body and, at first glance, spirit. It was also over-acted in a lot of places.

Books by Alicia Nordwell. I’ll try not to compare the stories too much and just analyze this on its own, but it will be a struggle nodwell I compared the two stories often while reading. After the start it turned very lovey-dovey experimdnt played into the possessive, caring, bigger male and delicate, smaller, feisty male theme which is fine. Enabled Amazon Best Sellers Rank: He didn’t realize sadistic doctors would turn him into the experiment—by injecting him with blood from a captured Caeorleian, Seral Iorflas.

It starts off as scifi guess the writer is in on it too, then vampire stuff appears and now gay porn.

Seral ‘claims’ Ryker without Ryker knowing what’s going on yet. However, I actually like some yaoi books, so I could have adjusted to the change This book will have wildly different ratings depending on the reader.

This story is exciting and unpredictable, especially the betrayals. Product details File Size: Jan 29, Marsha Spence rated it it was amazing Shelves: If you dislike non-con and torture like me, know that The Experiment is not too graphic, and much of the focus is on his recovery and adjustment to his new world and to his new alien husband.

The good chemistry and hot manlove scenes were also quite appreciated.
